Serve the FuturePassionate about promoting tennis and empowering the next generation, I am a dedicated advocate for providing youth with access to tennis. With a background in elementary education and previous board experience, I am committed to making a difference in the lives of young individuals through the transformative power of tennis.
Mission and Vision:
As a board member for the initiative, my primary mission is to break down barriers and create a level playing field in the world of tennis. I believe that tennis has the potential to instill essential life skills in children from all walks of life. By giving underserved youth access to tennis, we not only introduce them to a physically active lifestyle but also provide them with valuable life lessons such as discipline, teamwork, resilience, and determination. Our vision
is to foster a nurturing environment where every child, regardless of their socio-economic background, has an opportunity to explore their potential on and off the tennis court.
Experience and Contributions:
Starting out as an elementary school teacher in Phoenix, I quickly became addicted to the joy of working with children. During my time as a teacher, I spearheaded projects that would provide additional opportunities for my students. Whether we were raising money or bringing field experts to school, my focus has always been increasing exposure to the world around them. Additionally, I have served as the president of the Fletcher Farms HOA for the past 9 years.
During this time, my responsibilities included: Presiding over Meetings, Implementing Policies and Bylaws, Board Oversight, Communication, Financial Oversight, Community Relations, Enforcing Rules and Regulations, Legal Compliance, Long-term Planning
In a previous employment role, I worked very closely with the Phoenix Union High School District and feeder districts, where I was fortunate to work inside the buildings while developing rapport with students and teachers. This experience will serve me well in understanding the community and how to operate best within their standards.
Future Goals:
As a board member dedicated to empowering dreams through tennis, my future goals include expanding our reach to more communities. I aim to collaborate with the community and professionals to host workshops and clinics, inspiring young minds and instilling the spirit of sportsmanship in them.
Conclusion:
Empowering underserved children through tennis is not just a mission; it is a purpose. I am determined to dedicate my time, expertise, and network to level the playing field and open doors of opportunity for the youth in need. Together, as a united board and community, we can make a difference and create a lasting legacy.
